transference

modularity (or 'segmentation')  seems to be the ideal that one should forever seek to achieve. the leakage of emotions across domains of one's life can be quite a concern, if it is not about positive emotions. your happiness about little things in your personal life can help you feel more positive about work and increase your productivity. but if you are such a person, you can not quite guard yourself against the transference of negative emotions. and the problem of transference is that it is a two-way channel.  in a (non) ideal world, there should be 'galtonian' borders drawn across the functional boundaries of the brain. or practices to encourage complete segmentation in one's life.
