admittedly, this is something i've wanted to do for a while; it's one of those things that fit in well with my vision of the ideal world, but one's got to wait for it. as the train pulls out of newcastle station and heads toward york, the sea slowly disappears away from the left of my window- and the hilly scottish country makes way for plains.
getting back from a semi-weekend in fife, scotland - one of the most beautiful getaways i have been on recently. what a place to build a university (st. andrews)! the bluish gray sea lashes against ancient stone castles, and a university built in the 13th century. my obsession with timelessness keeps growing as i keep looking for more time.
